Here’s a big shout out to all my homies in Prospect and Crown Heights! This one’s for us, since it’s right around the corner. At David’s suggestion, this Saturday we’ll be brunching on the border of these two fantastic neighborhoods at the relatively new Ortine.

I spoke with the folks at Ortine on the phone and they were super nice! They assured me they had lots of food options for meat-eaters, veggies, and vegans alike, including a stuffed squash special, shakshuka (my fave!), and a delicious-sounding Mediterranean platter. Their menu is available on menupages, and linked from their website (above). They also said they would be able to accommodate a large group, so here’s hoping we have a nice turnout!

Hey everyone, our holiday hiatus is coming to a close and we’re gearing up for a new year full of…er….”cheer.” You know, the kind of cheer you mix with your orange juice to kill your Friday night hangover? Yeah…cheer! Preferably unlimited cheer for under 15 bucks. :)

so today we had brunch at vspot and it was delightful! i had the tofu scramble with toast homefries and sausage (fake of course)– all were really good but the standout was the coffee– it had some cinnamon in it and went great with the soymilk….all in all a fabulous experience– only complaint was the two year old who was allowed to roam freely and kept trying to escape, but she did make for some excellent brunch conversation :)
